The general meeting of the Almaden Valley Women's Club held on Tuesday, May 5, was a very special event. The AVWC recognized several local high school students for their outstanding achievements.
AVWC Scholarship committee Chair, Liz Marino presented 15 students with this year's scholarship awards based upon academic achievements, school participation, and community service. The AVWC is proud to have raised $15, 500 for this year's scholarship fund. Along with a certificate, each winner was awarded a check ranging from $500 - $2,000 to use toward their higher education.

The Almaden Valley Art and Wine Festival will be held on Sunday, Sept.20, from 10 AM to 6 PM, Almaden Lake Park, at the intersection of Almaden Expressway and Coleman Avenue in San Jose. The Almaden Valley Women's Club is a non-profit 501 © (3) organization and has orchestrated the festival since 1965. All proceeds from the event go to non-profit organizations and local schools through scholarships and community grants.
