The Almaden Valley Women’s Club Service and Academic Scholarship Award committee is looking for scholarship applicants.These scholarships, funded through the Almaden Valley Art & Wine Festival, recognize high school students for outstanding leadership in service to their community and neighbors. The AVWC is pleased to announce it has several scholarships to distribute to deserving students this year. The individual scholarships may range from $2,000 - $4,000.
The award is open to graduating high school seniors who will attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university as first time freshmen in the fall of the upcoming year. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.3 and reside within the 95120 zip code. Winners will be selected based on outstanding volunteer experience, academic performance, school activities, letters of recommendation, and personal essay.
Dates for applicant acceptance are February 15, 2012 - April 6, 2012.
