Dead Poser's Society - to Perform 33rd Almaden Valley Art & Wine Festival
Dead Poser's Society formed in 1996 by four friends with the philosophy to simply have fun and play only the songs they enjoy from the greatest hits by modern rock and alternative artists. The band quickly gained recognition as one of California's most talented cover bands performing to sold-out venues throughout the region.
Dead Poser's Society play music from the 90's to today. Songs from the Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, Lit, Buckcherry, etc. DPS also pays homage to one of the greatest rock bands of all time, Stone Temple Pilots. Performing the greatest hits of STP with near exact reflection of the originals, Dead Poser's Society holds true to the STP legend. If STP is one of your favorite bands, then you need to experience Dead Poser's Society. With songs such as Crackerman, Wicked Garden, Dead & Bloated, Down, Vasoline, and Sex Type Thing, you will be sure to have a great time and reminisce seeing live, one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
Their emphasis on playing selective songs gives excitement to the sound with near exact reflection of the originals. Dead Poser's Society live performances are visual, energetic and one you would expect from a top alternative band, with emotional honesty that keeps true to the music and the audience expectations. Don't miss a chance to see this band perform.

The Joint Chiefs to Perform 33rd Almaden Valley Art & Wine Festival
The Joint Chiefs are one of the most versatile and exciting dance bands currently performing on the Northern California music scene. Since their inception in 1990, The Joint Chiefs have built a loyal following based on their live performances as well as their wide range of styles and influences. Their sound fuses elements of funk, acid jazz and classic R&B with their own signature groove. The result is a dance party of infectious grooves.
Since members of the band were raised on 70's funk, the band is able to capture the real natural funk feel that all the other bands try to imitate.
With a repertoire of over 200 songs and a history of hundreds of performances in the Bay Area's most popular venues, The Joint Chiefs play everything from low volume instrumental jazz to full blown dance crazed funk. In addition to the nightclub and dinnerhouse venues, they have become a favorite for weddings, festivals and corporate parties.
The Joint Chiefs have amassed an impressive resume of performances. One listen proves this band can deliver the goods on disc as well as on stage!

2009 Artist Invitation and Application
Dear Artist:
The Almaden Valley Art and Wine Festival is a community fund raising event sponsored by the Almaden Valley Women’s Club and co-sponsored by the City of San Jose. Our fine reputation, based on 32 years of Festival Success, is well recognized and draws over 23,000 Festival attendees annually. This is an excellent opportunity for artists to showcase their own unique and personally handcrafted artistry.
This year our Festival will be held on Sunday, September 20th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Almaden Lake Park, San Jose. Last year our Festival raised over $45,000. This money was distributed throughout several non-profit agencies, scholarships and schools within our community. We are truly excited about the prospects of an even greater Festival this year!
As Artists Chair for this year’s Festival, I encourage you to submit an application. Also included are the general guidelines concerning becoming a participating artist. This is a juried event and spaces are limited. Additional information can be found on our website: www.almadenwine.org Please contact me at art1@almadenwine.org should you have specific questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Bonnie E. George
